Rise in urban beekeeping may be bad for bees, scientists warn

Increasing the number of bees living in urban areas may not be a benefit to overall bee populations, scientists warn, if there isn't enough nectar and pollen for all of them. This CBC News article reports on research from the UK published in The Biologist that shows that efforts to increase urban beekeeping may have negative consequences if not coupled with increasing habitat favorable to bees.
