Ryan Hreljac
Motivating Youth
In Ryan Hreljac's grade 1 classroom in January, 1998, his teacher spoke of the challenges faced by many in getting clean water. This discussion pushed Ryan to work towards establishing his first well at Angolo Primary School in Uganda, and ultimately led to the creation of Ryan's Well Foundation in 2001. A not-for-profit organization based in Ontario, Ryan's Well Foundation has supported water and sanitation projects in 16 countries throughout Africa and Central/South America.
