Scientists from the International Boreal Conservation Science Panel are recommending that Canada protect half of the nation's boreal forest from development in order to protect the ecosystem. As reported here by CBC News, the report released at the International Congress of Conservation Biology suggests that Canada's boreal forest is extremely important globally. They urge that all conservation decisions be made in consultation with First Nations.
