f Edmonton can do it, anybody can.
Two years ago Edmonton was ripping out on street cycle lanes. A year ago they were working on their first major on-road protected cycleways but at a glacially slow pace. This year, with unanimous support from the city council, they are implementing in one go a downtown cycle grid due for completion in August where the final product is the consultation material—to be tested out and if necessary modified in real time. Learn about this amazing cultural change and how cycling infrastructure can be implemented at speed, from Tyler Golly who headed sustainable transportation at the City of Edmonton and subsequently led the development of the Downtown Bike Grid plan at Stantec. Moderated by Darren Davis of Auckland Council and instructor for SFU's Next-Generation Transportation Certificate.
