Sherritt International, one of the companies involved with the Obed Mountain Coal Mine, has reported that the Athabasca River has had minimal or no abnormal erosion after the wastewater spill in late October. As this CBC News report indicates, there was significant damage to the Apetowun Creek and neighbouring forest areas. Tests also indicate that trout in the river were able to survive.
