The Climate Change and Emissions Management (CCEMC) Corp. has whittled down the applicants into a shortlist of 55 projects competing for the $35 million Grand Challenge. The groups who proposed the 55 projects have been asked to submit a full proposal to be evaluated for the final funding decisions. As this Edmonton Journal article explains, CCEMC will fund up to 20 projects for up to $500,000 each. The Grand Challenge asked for ideas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and develop new carbon-based, value-added products.
