Studies suggest boreal forests can handle oilsands development

A researcher from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences has published several papers this year indicating that forests and soils in north-eastern Alberta are managing the airborne pollutants from the oilsands region. As this Univeristy of Alberta News item describes, Dr. Scott Chang's publications refelct results from an ongoing 10-year research project monitoring the boreal ecosystem.
