Summer use at Mount Norquay pits its survival against grizzlies

Proposals to have Mount Norquay open for the summer seasn - with chairlift access and a via ferrata - are being met with concern by some environmental groups. As explained in this Calgary Herald article, there is concern that the tourist traffic will disturb critical grizzly bear habitat. The owners of the Mount Norquay business have developed the plans in order to make the business economically viable, and they have included wildlife management strategies in their proposal.
