Tree death toll from climate change likely underestimated

New research suggests that forests may be more vulnerable to climate change than was previously believed, particularly in the case of younger trees and certain tree species. As this CBC News story explains, previous studies have used models that assumed that the impact of climate change would be the same for older forests and younger forests. However, younger trees and species that require more water or appear in forests later after fires than other species are more vulnerable than others.
