Changes announced today to Alberta's at-risk species list indicate that the trumpeter swan is no longer considered to be a threatened species. While still listed as a species of special concern, the change in classification means that the trumpter swan is not in immediate danger. 4 new species were added to the list of threatened species in Alberta:
- Athabasca rainbow trout
- Bull trout
- Pygmy whitefish
- Western grebe
