At this week's Wildland Fire Canada conference, it was announced that the University of Alberta will be the western hub for a new national forest-fire initiative. As explained in this Edmonton Journal article, the partner in the program will collaborate and coordinate resources in an effort to better understand the ways forest fires are changing in the Canadian landscape.
