The University of Alberta's heritage chicken program is set to expand in the fall. The program, described here in this Edmonton Journal article, allows members of the public to 'adopt' a chicken and receive eggs biweekly. The funds go towards keeping the heritage chicken program alive at the Poultry Research Centre.
