Moose populations in various areas around North America are declining at a rapid rate, by the reasons are not yet clear. As this National Post article explains, climate change is thought to be a significant contributing factor in the declining populations. With warmer winters and less snow, there has been an increase in harmful parasites and an increase in heat stress for the moose.
