Video - Drought Policy Modelling: The Invitational Drought Tournament Model. Presentation by Kai Wang

Kai Wang provides information on a drought planning model. Originally built for Canadian agriculture, the model works as a "game" where the effect of water policies are projected on a specific watershed as teams of local experts and planners compete to choose the optimum policy mix for a drought scenario for the watershed. Kai Wang describes new components being added to the model for more accurate modeling and to extend the model into new areas of drought policy planning.

Richard Rieger, Agriculture and AgriFood Canada provides an update on the Invitational Drought Model here.

Kai Wang is a PhD graduate student at the University of Alberta in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His presentation was part of the CWRA/WPAC Joint Conference in Red Deer, Alberta on March 13-14, 2013.
