Video - How city-regions are leading the way on food, health, and the environment. Part 2. Presentation by Catherine Mah

Part 2 of 2

Catherine Mah is the assistant professor of Health Policy at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and her presentation is about how city-regions are leading in food, health and the environment at a time when the food supply is stressed and 1.7 million Canadian families experience food insecurity.

Mah and her fellow researchers are currently focused on observing, testing and scaling food related innovations to improve Canadians’ access to healthy food options. She discusses research on the impact of convenience stores on citizens’ health, store design changes that can encourage healthy eating, and the significance of municipalities that share information and collaborate to solve food and farming problems. This presentation was a part of the Alberta Institute of Agrologists 11th Annual Banff Conference, March 31-April 2, 2015.
