Video - Alberta's Environment Farm Plan and Sustainable Sourcing. Presentation by Paul Watson

Dr. Paul Watson, PAg, is the Director of the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan for the Agricultural Research and Extension Council of Alberta.

The Alberta Environmental Farm Plan is a voluntary, whole farm, self assessment to help Alberta farmers and ranchers identify environmental risks on their property and then develop plans to mitigate those risks. An EFP was a requirement to access funding for environmental farm projects (e.g. solar well pumps). With sustainable sourcing now an issue for food processors, retailers and restaurant chains, EFP is aligning itself with international sustainable sourcing standards to ensure that Alberta farmers extract the maximum value from their EFPs.

Paul Watson's presentation was part of the 2016 AIA Conference, April 19-21, Banff, Alberta.
