Nanotechnology could help in reducing the environmental footprints of Alberta oilsands industry

Nashaat N. Nassar from the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for In-Situ Energy has written a guest column for the Alberta Water Portal website concerning the potential benefits of using nanotechnology in the oilsands. In particular, using nanoparticles during water treatment, air emission control, and heavy oil upgrading could be more efficient and more environmentally friendly for oilsands producers.
