Ralph Wright, manager of Agro-Meteorological Applications and Modelling Section for Alberta Agriculture & Forestry, explains Alberta’s AgroClimatic Information Service (ACIS).
He discusses the history of meteorological station expansion, precipitation patterns over the past 130 years, and Alberta Climate Information Service. There are now nearly 350 meteorological stations in Alberta and data from them are available online; updated every hour. Included in his presentation is a live web demo from www.weatherdata.ca.
This presentation was a part of the Sturgeon River Watershed Forum. It was presented by the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance and Sturgeon River Watershed Alliance in September of 2015.
