Edith Vanderpuye, Alberta Environment and Parks, discusses Alberta's Water Policies, ongoing research, and shifts in policy and planning. The provincial strategy is Water for Life and the goals of this strategy include ensuring a safe and secure drinking water supply, and healthy aquatic ecosystems.
Vanderpuye talks about the importance of citizen engagement as well as looking at projects and policies about water in a more holistic manner. Water policies currently in progress are also touched on, such as Wetland Implementation, and Tailings Management.
This presentation was a part of the Sustaining Alberta’s Forested Headwaters: Science Symposium, which occurred in November of 2015.
