Minister Diana McQueen, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Resource Development talks to the Alberta Water Planning Advisory Councils (WPACs) and the Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) about key initiatives in 2013.
Minister McQueen describes some of the 2013 budget cuts for her department but the ongoing support to core activities of the WPACs. She describes what is coming with the joint federal/provincial monitoring of the oil sands. The regional planning in the Lower Athabasca River basin is highlighted. She finishes by talking about "Water Conversations" and what the province is hearing from the public in those conversations. The WPACs' role in water education and in "Water Conversations" is highlighted.
