Video - Sturgeon River Watershed: The Journey So Far. Part 1. Presentation by Leah Kongsrude

Part 1 of 2

Leah Kongsrude, environmental manager for the City of St. Albert, talks about the journey of the Sturgeon River Watershed.

She discusses the significance of documents such as the State of the Sturgeon River Watershed Report as well as changes along the watershed; quickly growing urban areas, such as St. Albert and Spruce Grove, and the strong agricultural presence. The infestation of invasive species such as Flowering Rush is addressed and plans to attempt to eliminate goldfish by netting and electrofishing beginning this fall are explained.

This presentation was a part of the Sturgeon River Watershed Forum. It was presented by the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance and the Sturgeon River Watershed Alliance in September of 2015.
