At the 2012 Alberta Soil Science Workshop, Brian Ilnicki - Executive Director of the Land Stewardship Centre - presented on a pilot project in the Beaver Hills. The project looks at transferring development credits (TDC) as a means of encouraging development and protecting land important for other purposes. The five main steps of the TDC approach are described, and anticipated outcomes are discussed.
