Video - Uncertainty and Interface Among Food Production, Urban Design, and Natural Capital in Alberta. Presentation by Brad Stelfox

Dr Brad Stelfox describes the trends developing for food production in Alberta and urban growth in Alberta. Alberta has always regarded itself as a robust source for food exports. However, as urban growth consumes Alberta's best farmland, Stelfox predicts a day arriving when Alberta becomes a net importer of food.

Dr Stelfox is the architect and developer of the ALCES model. He is an adjunct professor at the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta, and the Department of Environmental Design, University of Calgary. His presentation was part of the plenary session at the AIA 2016 Conference, Apr. 20.
