Chris Powter, Executive Director describes what OSRIN did for the Alberta oil sands community; both practitioners involved in oil sands production, and reclamation and researchers. Chris Powter begins his presentation by describing what the Oil Sands Research and Information Network accomplished in its 6 years. As a source of balanced information about the Alberta oil sands, the network funded research, sponsored events and delivered information through a website and newsletters.
Chris Powter describes some fundamentals that research information networks must do to serve their stakeholders and the public. His presentation was a special departmental seminar of the Department of Renewable Resources, University of Alberta, on November 27, 2014.
The Oil Sands Research and Information Network wrapped up on Dec. 31, 2014 after six years of research and information sharing.
