Funding available for research on water in hydraulic fracturing

The Canadian Water Network (CWN) is looking for Expressions of Qualifications from researchers and research teams to explore five projects related to water in hydraulic fracturing. The total funds available are up to $500,000. The following issues will be explored:

  1. Water use and demand management
  2. Wastewater handling, treatment and disposal
  3. Groundwater and subsurface impact issues
  4. Landscape impacts of development/operations on surface water/watersheds
  5. Watershed governance and management approaches for resource development, including aboriginal issues
