University of Saskatchewan hydrologist John Pomeroy says that research shows the June floods in Alberta could happen again, and weren't as extraordinary as first thought. As this Edmonton Journal article explains, researchers have looked at historic flood data and have determined that it was a one-in-32-year flood in Banff and a one-in-45-year flood in Calgary.
