Preserving heritage chickens aim of UofA program

A University of Alberta program that raises several breeds of heritage chickens is seeking public support. For $75 members of the public can 'adopt' a hen, and receive a dozen eggs ever two weeks. As CBC News reports, the program through The Poultry Resource Centre hopes to help with the costs associated with running the program, particularly in the wake of recent funding cutbacks to the province's post-secondary education institutions.
