Ranchers' dry fields send costs higher, as producers fear 'creeping disaster' of drought

Dry conditions in many parts of Alberta are causing agricultural producers to fear for the growing season. In some areas, this year has seen less than 40% of normal rainfall, and other areas haven't received any moisture for a month or more. As this Calgary Herald article describes, the dry conditions are causing cattle producers to pay more for feed than they normally would.
