Study shows no lead pollution in the oil sands region

Research conducted by Dr. William Shotyk and his team from the University of Alberta shows that the Alberta oil sands region does not have atmospheric lead pollution. Samples of sphagnum moss were tested from 21 bogs in the oil sands region, with results indicating that lead and other heavy metal concentrations were lower than for comparison samples from Germany. More details on the study can be found in this article from the Faculty of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences.
