University of Alberta biotech startup finds new use for old paper

A group of researchers at the University of Alberta are working on a process that would turn waste cellulose into chemicals that could be used by other industries. As explained here in the Edmonton Journal, the researchers are using waste from paper-recycling facilities, keeping it from going into the landfill. The research is being done through a biotech startup called Upcycled Aromatics.
