At the 2012 LiDAR Workshop, Nicholas Coops describes the process of using the two main LiDAR platforms (airborne and terrestrial) in forestry and how they can be best used. An overview of some of the pros and cons of different aspects of the LiDAR data is presented. Since LiDAR directly measures things, the applications for forestry are many.
Nicholas Coops is Canada Research Chair in Remote Sensing with the Integrated Remote Sensing Studio and the UBC Faculty of Forestry.
