On March 21, 2013 the documentary Billion Dollar Caribou aired on CBC's The Nature of Things. The documentary focussed on the Little Smoky caribou herd in the foothills of Alberta's Rocky Mountains. The documentary featured discussions with conservation groups, aboriginal groups, researchers, government and industry about caribou conservation in Alberta and Canada.
