Alberta Environment, in consultation with First Nations and Metis groups, industry and non-governmental organizations, prepared the draft surface water quality management framework as part of a cumulative effects management strategy. This framework, for the Lower Athabasca Region, was designed to be used as part of the land-use planning process.
