Recovery strategy for the Woodland Caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou), Boreal poulation, in Canada

The much anticipated Recovery Strategy for Woodland Caribou has been released by the Government of Canada. On October 5, 2012, Environment Canada released the final report from the Species at Risk Act recovery strategy process. The document outlines the guidelines that must be followed in the boreal regions where the caribou herds live, with the ultimate goal of recovering the population of all local (Boreal) populations of woodland caribou across the country.

Action Plans to accompany the recovery strategy will be released in the coming weeks.
