Gael Blackhall, Coordinator of the Community Garden Resource Network for the Calgary Horticultural Society, talks about the importance of community gardens in developing community within an urban area. She explains the importance of social events like potlucks to bring a community together and allow for meaningful participation within the food systems. She describes how community gardens are for self education about good food.
