Carolyn Campbell reviews the forest management planning for Hidden Creek, a tributary to the Oldman River in southwestern Alberta. With two at-risk native trout species, bull trout and western cutthroat trout, using Hidden Creek as spawning grounds, Carolyn reviews the process that led to road construction and logging in the Hidden Creek headwaters in 2012. Based on this case study, the Alberta Wilderness Association has a series of recommendations on forest management planning and logging activities in foothills creeks with sensitive species and habitats.
