Part 1 of 4
Paul Bedford, adjunct professor of urban & regional planning at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, talks about the five stages of his career as a City Planner: the early years, learning years, management years, leading, and giving back.
He talks about the questions you need to ask yourself in order to be a good planner today, such as “What are your values?”, and what inspired him to become a planner. He also discusses his education, his first jobs – including the significant move to Toronto - and the lessons he learned from them.
This presentation was a part of the Alberta Professional Planners Institute Annual Conference, entitled “Lifecycle of a Planner”, in October 2014.
