Video - Naskapi observations of the impacts of climatic and socio-environmental changes on the caribou in the Canadian subarctic and identification of priority adaptation strategies. Presentation by G. Guanish

At the 14th North American Caribou Workshop held in September 2012, George Guanish presented observations from the Naskapi First Nation of Kawawachikamach, who are dependent on caribou for their livelihood. Changes in climate, environment, and caribou behaviour have been observed. Priority adaptation strategies are discussed, as well as how traditional knowledge can inform adaptive management.

George Guanish is from the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach.
