At the 2012 LiDAR workshop, Murray Woods - Senior Analyst, Forested Landscapes with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources - discusses how to use LiDAR data, in particular for forestry, but for government and industry in general.
Specifically, he reviews how LiDAR data is used for forest inventories, how to do it well, how accurate the results are, and how much you need.
Finally, Woods describes a decision-making support tool called AFRIDS.
