Video - The potential importance of nutrition in habitat conservation programs for caribou. Presentation by Cook et. al.

At the 14th North American Caribou Workshop in September 2012, John Cook presented some results from ongoing research done by a team from the US, Ontario and BC that looked at the role of nutrition in caribou survival and the implications for habitat conservation programs. Looking at 9 caribou herds, the influence of summer nutrition is discussed, as well as body fat and pregnancy data. There is considerable variation between herds in different regions.

John Cook is a Research Biologist with the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement in the US.
