At the 14th North American Caribou Workshop held in September 2012 Steve Gordon reported on the program implemented to augment the population of the South Purcell Mountain carbiou herd. 19 caribou were translocated in March 2012 as the first phase of a 2-year project that will see 40 caribou moved.
