John Diiwu outlines the current standards for allowable cuts in Alberta's forests based on the potential increases in flow rates and flow volumes after trees are harvested. He reviews the science behind current limits and then how those standards are applied under specific conditions in typical forest management areas. While the process is simple, it is flexible for the specific conditions encountered on-site. New technologies like wet areas mapping and LiDAR are accommodated in the process.
