CAPP, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, has produced a series of Operating Practices for hydraulic fracturing for natural gas. These operating practices support member companies in their commitment to the Guiding Principles for hydraulic fracturing established by CAPP.
Operating practice #3 concerns establishing a baseline for groudnwater near shale or tight gas development so that water characteristics can be monitored and analyzed over time for any changes.
