The modern practices of hydraulic fracturing: A focus on Canadian resources

In June 2012 the Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada (PTAC) and Science and Community Environmental Knowledge Fund (SCEK) jointly released a report they commissioned regarding the current hydraulic fracturing practices used in Canada. The report, prepared by ALL Consulting, explains the processes of hydraulic fracturing, and addresses the issues related to risks, in particular the potential for groundwater contamination. Provincial regulations across the country are included, as well.
