Video - Development of advanced analytical methods for open path FTIR. Presentation by Susan Stuver

Susan Stuver, Research Scientist for Texas A&M Institute of Renewable Natural Resources, discusses the development of advanced analytical methods for open path systems.

The Department of Energy projects include research on three key environmental issues: baseline sampling and stray gas monitoring, air emissions, and produced water treatment and disposal. The objective of the research is to conduct quantitative evaluation of current methods and develop recommendations for characterizing water quality, air emissions and produced water. Once methodology was determined, field work and testing took place.

Stuver explained her goals to develop guidelines for produced water characterization, an analytical protocol for air and gas emission measurements.

This presentation was a part of the Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada's forum Hydraulic Fracturing in Western Canada: An Environmental Perspective, which took place in May, 2014.
