The West Central Alberta Caribou Landscape Planning Team, part of the Alberta Caribou Committee, prepared this report in May of 2008. It includes a look at the current state of caribou populations in the west central region of Alberta (a total of 6 herds, including some in the National Parks). Short-term and long-term strategies are proposed to help sustain caribou populations, from controlling predation to preserving old forest areas.
