The NAIT Boreal Reclamation Program, part of the Boreal Research Institute, has produced a series of Technical Notes related to best management practices for reclamation of boreal forest sites. This technical note pertains to tree planting to fulfil the woody layer requirement of the Government of Alberta's reclamation regulations. Coniferous and deciduous tree planting is covered, from selection of seedlings/cuttings, to planting techniques to consider.
