Part 2 of 2
Barry Adams, head of the Rangeland Resource Management Program at ESRD, discusses management of public land grazing and the importance of achieving sustainable grazing allocations while balancing this with all other interests on public land. This includes quantifying the grazing capacity for each field and applying the principles of range management, and measuring how current management is affecting the lands ability to perform its natural ecological functions. Every guide created is based on a natural subregion and defines the ecological site, ecosite phase, range plant community and successional community.
This presentation was a part of the Alberta Institute of Agrologists 11th Annual Banff Conference from March 31-April 2, 2015.
