At the Alberta Rural Organic Waste to Resources Network (AROWRN) conference in April/May 2012, Richard Krygier presented on the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre's Alberta initiative. The crops grown are willows and poplars for biomass, and poplars for forest products. Controlled surface flood and subsurface drip irrigation are used.
